So first of how did you all meet?

 

We have all played in bands together for about 10 years. Various genres. We probably met through playing in various cover bands apart from big James the drummer. We found him in a lonely hearts ad.

 

Where are you all from?

 

We are all from Cumnock, Ayrshire apart from big Mark who lives up in Strone near Dunoon. He is the snobby member of the Apparents.

 

How long have you been playing your respective instruments?

 

We have all been playing for 20 years plus. Getting the hang of them now nearly.

 

What genre of music do you consider your work to be?

 

We are 100% raw punk rock oi!

 

What are your influences?

 

We probably have the weirdest influence in punk rock. I myself have been into punk rock for most of my life. Mark the other guitarist has heavy influences in his playing from prog rock. We try to curtail this. James is influenced more by speed metal and aw that groany nonsense. Again we try n curtail this as much as possible. Goose the bass player is influenced by trance, drugs, disco and the 80s. He’s a very strange boy. And sterver our vocalist is heavily under the influence of Strongbow dark fruits.

 

Do you do covers and if so what’s your go to?

 

We all play in another band called Vendetta which does 100 % classic punk rock covers apart from Mark.

 

What if anything does your name mean/why are you called that?

 

Our name came about as big Mark's brother cannot talk to anyone without adding the word apparently at the end of every sentence.

 

Do you have a process for writing your songs? / Which of you writes the songs?

 

Myself and Mark write the songs. Normally I travel up to his gaff in the wilderness and spend the weekend eating fish 'n' chips from a Dunoon chippy and big Mark's world renowned fry ups and write a few songs between meals.

 

What are your rehearsals generally like?

 

Chaos with the end result normally being the songs being ready. No sure how but the chaos seems to work.

 

What song do you remember most from your childhood?

 

My childhood was probably most influenced by the Pistols and Friggen in the Riggin was probably the most memorable track.

 

What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

 

Our most challenging test as a band has to be getting people interested. The stigma of punk rock by the media has stuck and the stereotypical, punk rock musicians cannot play attitude is still very much alive within the music industry. With the current government doing everything possible to fuck this country up we feel there has never been a more relevant time for punk rock. Also our other biggest challenge is too stop big James putting heavy metal double bass drum through

 

How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?

Have you released anything yet? If you have how has it gone down and are you planning anything for the near future?

 

We released our first E.P “The Face May Change” on the 6th of January 2018 and have been pleasantly surprised with the feedback we have received.

 

Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

 

We recorded the E.P and to start with it was only myself and Mark writing a few tracks for our own self indulgence. When we realised the songs we were writing were actually decent we put the band together. We hope to be out gigging in 2018 and beyond.

 

What do you think about downloading music online?

 

Music online is a great way for new artists to get their music out there. Sadly though it doesn’t seem to be used utilised as well as it should be.

 

What’s your outlook on the record industry today?

 

My outlook on the music industry today is its boring. It seems it’s governed by the likes of Simon Cowell and as we say in our song Reali-TV he can go and fuck himself. Very depressing as well. Seems the more laden with sadness a song us, the more success that song will have.

 

And let’s end with something a little different…Which famous person, alive or dead, would you have dinner with and why?

 

Personally I would love to go for dinner with David Attenborough. The man’s a legend and the chat ye could have would be amazing.
